Carolyn Frances, M.A., MFT InternI am an Intern working towards MFT licensure in the state of California. I currently work at Axis Community Health seeing couples, children, and adults. I am a member of the International Center for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy and the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists. |
I graduated, Summa Cum Laude, with a BA in Theatre Arts from Cal State East Bay and finished my Masters in Counseling Psychology at Argosy University. I have also completed an Externship for Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy.
I have been influenced by existential theories, and experiential practices and the importance of emotion. Sue Johnson and Dabrowski are two of my strongest influencers.
My experience in the theatre also influences my work. In the theatre, I learned the importance of a safe, supportive place to explore, play, and work through problems. Theatre exercises also allow for opportunities to bond, explore, and learn more about ourselves.
